April 25, 2016 Message

Dear Leaders of CPVA,
The CPVA has received a tentative invitation from the House of Commons Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs (ACVA) to appear as a witness about service delivery to Veterans by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). Pending final confirmation about our appearance, I am seeking anecdotal information from CPVA members about their experiences with VAC.
Basically what ACVA is doing is assessing the access to services from VAC:
what works or does not, the delays encountered, the paperwork to fill, the quality of communication with the Department, etc.
Naturally, we have all heard about or experienced many negative things in dealing with VAC. If you have such a personal story, please let me know. Of course, if you have had a positive experience, it should also be made known.
I invite any of our members to send their stories directly to me. There is some urgency as we have just learned about the possible appearance on 5 May and the brief about our presentation has to be submitted for translation by next Friday, 29 April. Your cooperation in helping to put together this very important
information would be much appreciated. Thank you.
With best regards,
Ray Kokkonen
